The Kerplunks have been busy little bees these past few weeks!

We had the chance to play at a whole bunch of BC schools, including Coquitlam, Langley, Port Coquitlam and Abbotsford. We even had the chance to shoot some hoops with some of the kids. So much fun!

Now we're rocking out in the recordings studio working on our third album. It still doesn't even have a name!

Some great news, we've been nominated for 10th Annual Independent Music Awards, “The Indies” for Favourite Children's Group! This is fun. Some of the others nominated are The Funky Mamas, Chris McKhool, The Bee’s Knees and Duplex. We're in some pretty awesome Canadian company here and offer many congrats to the other artists nominated.

Yay! Stay tuned for news about upcoming shows, summer music festivals and CD release parties. Woo Hoo!

Canadian Folk Music Award Nomination!

Guess what?!

The Kerplunks have been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Children's Album of the Year! This is the same award we won in 2008 when we got to go to St. John's Newfoundland. Boy that was fun!

This time we get to go to Gatineau Quebec! That's right next door to our nation's capital Ottawa! Check out the other fantastic nominees HERE.

We're really excited. We love our job. We feel the love, big time.

Summer of FUN!

Wow friends, this has been the craziest summer! The Kerplunks are done flying around the globe for our summer 09 tour and are back, ready to generate some fun for the fall/winter/spring!

As you can see from this photo, The Kerplunks were seriously rockin the beach scene. This is our guitarist Aaron (Catman) Cadwaladr taking a moment between ear-splitting, shredding guitar riffs to rock the vocals with his wireless kelp mic. This epochal moment took place on North Beach in the Haida Gwaii (Edge of the World festival). We also played the Midsummer Music Festival in Smithers and the Winnipeg Folk Fest. We did lots of flying and our arms are very tired!

Right when we get home, we get to go right to the Duncan Cowichan Festival

We play on the Main Stage at 6:30. We'll have CDs for sale
and will also have our t-shirts there as well!

Hey Everyone!! Our CD Release Parties were a HUGE amount of fun and success! Thank you to everyone who came and supported us and helped out. We are feeling the love, BIG TIME! So many people went home with our new CD Walk On along with t-shirts, stickers and tattoos and many folks have given us rave reviews. Thanks!

We just posted a new song on our MySpace page! Plus, check out our YouTube site to see us performing one of our new songs, Dino Rap LIVE from the Gabriola Island Community Hall. So much fun!

We looked fabulous-gotta admit!
Although we did not win this year's Juno, we did pinky-shake with one of the Barenaked Ladies that they wouldn't release another kids' album(for a year or two) so we can win next year.
Those guys had better keep their promise-because we promised not to release a rock album next year(I guess they think we'll be tough competition).
Thanks for all your well wishes- we'll be in your community to play more rockin' Kerplunks songs in the coming months-also, feel free to email us with fanmail- it's our favorite mail to open!

We've been nominated for ANOTHER AWARD! This is getting a bit silly but we're fine with it!

This time we're nominated for the 2008 Independent Music Award! We're going to Newfoundland!!

Hey everyone! We're so excited, we're going to Newfoundland!!!

As you know, we're nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Children's Album. This is so exciting! Big congratulations to the other nominees in our category.

All the nominees in our category who are attending the CFMA Gala are going to be on CBC Radio's Weekend Arts Magazine. This airs at 8:30 in the morning on Sunday Novmember 23rd.

Big thanks to everyone in our Community of Gabriola for helping us get all the way to Newfoundland! It's about as far away as you can get from home. Cool, eh? Stay tuned for photos and fun stories from the upcoming awards ceremony.

WE WON THE WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC AWARD!!!

Thanks so much everyone for your support and encouragement. Edmonton was such a fun time! We met some great friends and had a blast driving to and from the conference and awards gala.

Hellooooo from Edmonton!

We're here hob-nobbing with all sorts of fun musicians from all over Western Canada here and enjoying meeting new friends. The actual awards ceremony doesn't take place until Sunday evening so we still don't know if we've won the Western Canadian Music Award. But we will tomorrow!

We'll be putting some photos on our photo page soon plus some new videos on our YouTube site! We'll let you know.

Hey everyone!! Guess what? We've been nominated for another award! Isn't that cool?

The Kerplunks are nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Children's Album! Yeppers, we're off to Newfoundland on November the 23rd for the awards gala. We've never been to Newfoundland and hear that St. Johns is the Bee's Knees!

Can't wait to hit Edmonton and see some amazing live music, hang out with other fun musicians, get all gussied up and go schmoozin'! We'll let you know what happens at the Western Canadian Music Awards. We're up against some pretty great children's performers, it's quite an honour.

We're going to Edmonton for the Western Canadian Music Awards!

News flash! The Kerplunks fancy new website is almost finished!!! It looks fantastic and we're really enjoying working with Anthony Clark.

Well, Dinah and Tina of The Kerplunks are off to Edmonton in a few weeks to attend the Gala Awards Ceremony for the Western Canadian Music Awards!! It's really exciting and we're pumped. There are some incredible musicians nominated for all sorts of awards, check them out at www.westerncanadianmusicawards.ca. We'll be hangin' and hobnobbin' with all sorts of people in the music industry and seeing some live shows! Being a professional musician is super-duper fun-on-the-run!

Our First Blog!!

Hey everyone!

Tina here! We're doing all sorts of fun stuff lately and thought we'd set up this funky blog thingy to let you know what's happening!

Summer time was so busy for The Kerplunks. We traveled all over this beautiful province of BC playing in some really cool places. In June, we drove all the way to Smithers BC and played at the Midsummer Music Festival. Then we came back to Southern BC and played at some wonderful outdoor events, music festivals and parties. Check out our photo site to see some more pictures! We met all sorts of great people and had a great time.

School is in again! That means The Kerplunks will be touring some schools in BC in the coming months. We will for sure be coming to Brechin Elementary School in Nanaimo at 9:00am on November 17th. Then the same day we'll be heading up to Courtenay to play at Puntledge Park Elementary School at 1:30. Watch out for a Rocky Mountain Tour in March. We love to travel!

Some exciting news! The Kerplunks are nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for Outstanding Children's Recording! Yay! This means that we get to go all the way to Edmonton for the Gala Awards Ceremony and hopefully play some shows as well. Stay tuned!
